University of Arkansas at Little Rock/Pulaski County Law Library

Law Library Study Areas

Library users will find numerous study areas throughout the library. There are tables, open carrels, sofas and easy chairs for the use of all library patrons. Our limited access spaces include closed carrels, conference rooms and group study rooms.

Closed Carrels

Closed carrels are available to law faculty, law students, attorneys and judges. They may be reserved by completing an application at the circulation desk. Law students and faculty carrels are assigned on a semester basis. An attorney may occupy a carrel for up to one week. Faculty and attorneys may request private carrels. Law students will not be assigned to a private carrel; however, students may ask for the names of preferred carrel mates.

Law students will be eligible to apply for a carrel if they are enrolled in a seminar requiring research and writing or are completing a project that fulfills the upper level writing requirement.

Group Study Rooms

Group study rooms are available for library research or law school class work. Study groups have first priority. These rooms may be reserved in advance on a first come-first served basis for up to three hours at a time. Make reservations at the circulation desk.

Conference Rooms

Conference rooms are available to attorneys, study groups, or library patrons who wish to use them for library research or law school class work. Conference rooms may be reserved in advance for up to three hours at a time. Make reservations at the circulation desk.

Group study rooms and conference rooms are available for research and study purposes only. They are not available for depositions or conferences not related to library research or law school class work.
